The newest set for Disney Lorcana, titled Attack of the Vine, has officially launched. This release marks the conclusion of the game's "Vine Saga" and introduces a variety of new cards. However, players looking to acquire the set are encountering significant difficulties in obtaining products at their intended retail price, with many items appearing on the secondary market at considerably higher costs.
While official retailers are expected to restock in the coming days, the initial rollout has led to scarcity, driving up prices for those eager to obtain the latest cards. Booster Packs, typically the most accessible entry point for trading card game players, are being sold at approximately double their manufacturer's suggested retail price (MSRP). A single booster pack, which should retail around $6, is currently listed for about $12 on platforms like TCGplayer. A full booster box, with an MSRP closer to $145, is fetching prices upwards of $200.
The Illumineer's Trove, a popular collection item in Lorcana sets, which usually contains eight booster packs along with accessories like a storage box and dice, is also experiencing inflated pricing. Its MSRP is $50, but it is currently being offered for over $100.
Starter Sets are also affected. The Rapunzel Edition Starter Set, intended to be a $30 product that includes four booster packs, a Rapunzel portfolio case, a special promo card, and a collector's guide, is being sold for $80. Players are advised to avoid these marked-up prices.
Beyond the standard set releases, the Illumineer's Quest: The Great Hunny Rescue, a solo or cooperative card game experience featuring two player decks, scenario cards, and encounter cards, is also seeing inflated pricing. While its MSRP is not explicitly stated, it is currently retailing for around $100, though this price is expected to decrease once initial demand subsides.
