Disney+ has updated its subscriber agreement, clarifying that advertisements will now be permitted on all service plans. This change was communicated to subscribers via email last week, with the updated terms explicitly stating that all service plans may include promotional content, sponsorships, and advertisements before and after content playback, as well as in channels and special events.
While this does not signify the integration of advertisements directly into all content, it does represent a loosening of restrictions on promotional material for even the platform's premium tiers. Previously, Disney+ offered a Basic tier at $11.99 per month, which included ads, and a Premium tier for $18.99 per month (or $189.99 annually) that promised ad-free viewing. The revised agreement suggests that ads may now appear before and after playback on the Premium tier, effectively ending the guarantee of a completely ad-free experience on the platform.
An exception to this new policy appears to be Disney+ Junior Mode. Profiles utilizing this kid-friendly setting will reportedly not be subjected to ads or promotional content. The specific frequency of ads that may appear across different tiers under these new terms remains unclear.
Disney+ implemented its latest price increases in October 2025.
