DoorDash has broadened its e-commerce capabilities to include the sale of digital video games. This expansion integrates game purchases alongside existing offerings of physical games, consoles, gaming accessories, discounted gift cards for services like Xbox and Roblox, and food and beverages, aiming to consolidate gaming-related purchases within a single application.

A new gaming tab, identified by a controller icon, has been introduced in the DoorDash app. This section features hundreds of digital games available for PC, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox. Titles span various genres, with examples including EA Sports FC 26, Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, Pokémon Pokopia, and Super Mario Galaxy 2. The platform also plans to offer pre-orders for upcoming titles, such as Grand Theft Auto VI.

The process for purchasing digital games involves receiving a download code via email, which can then be redeemed on the user's chosen gaming platform. For physical items, DoorDash's DoubleDash feature allows for combined deliveries from multiple retailers.

To commemorate the launch, DoorDash is offering promotional eGift cards for customers spending $50 or more on digital games. Through August 31, eligible DashPass members will receive a $25 gift card, while non-members will receive $10. From September 1 through December 31, these amounts will be $15 for DashPass members and $5 for non-members. DoorDash also intends to introduce exclusive food and retail offers for DashPass members with qualifying game purchases later in the year.

DashPass membership, priced at $9.99 per month or $96 annually, provides benefits such as $0 delivery fees on eligible orders, 5% credit back on pickup orders, and access to member-exclusive offers across various retail categories. Delivery of game night essentials, including purchased games, can arrive in as fast as 30 minutes, depending on location.
