Dracula: Book IV - The Undead Concludes Matt Wagner and Kelley Jones' Vampire Saga

Matt Wagner and Kelley Jones are bringing their long-running Dracula graphic novel series to a close with the release of Dracula: Book IV - The Undead. The Kickstarter campaign for the final installment is currently underway, offering fans a chance to secure the concluding chapter of this vampire saga.

This latest volume continues the story beyond Bram Stoker's original novel, picking up after Jonathan Harker and his allies believed they had vanquished the Count. However, their victory was not as complete as they thought, allowing Dracula to rise again and pose a threat to the world. Wagner elaborated that this narrative choice stems from a perceived discrepancy in the original novel, where the methods outlined for destroying a vampire were not fully employed by the protagonists.

Wagner, who is writing the series, expressed his continued admiration for Jones' artwork, stating that he writes the saga with Jones' graphic prowess in mind, and that Jones consistently exceeds expectations. The question of Dracula's response to his near-demise and the potential for human resistance forms the core of the new narrative.

Dracula: Book IV - The Undead is being published under Wagner and Jones' Orlok Press label. While the Kickstarter offers direct access to the book, it is expected that, like previous volumes, it will eventually see a wider release through Dark Horse Comics. The first three volumes are currently available for purchase.
