Dragon Ball Sparking Zero will receive its Super Limit-Breaking Neo DLC on July 30, adding more than 30 new characters, four new stages, and a brand-new single-player mode. This marks the first major content addition beyond characters since last fall's Dragon Ball Daima pack.

New Characters and Stages

The Neo DLC roster expands to include fan favorites such as Pikkon, Super 17, and Super Saiyan Bardock. The latest trailer also revealed teenage versions of Goku, Chi-Chi, and Tien, alongside the 23rd Tenkaichi Budōkai iteration of Piccolo, complete with his giant form. While a False Super Saiyan transformation for Goku appears in the trailer, it seems to be a special attack rather than a distinct character.

In addition to the character additions, the DLC will introduce four new stages: Kami’s Palace, Kame House, Bitter Tundra, and the Stratosphere of Earth and of Planet Vegeta. Various new costumes and super attacks will also be included.

Limit Breaker Journey Mode

A significant addition to the game is a new single-player mode called Limit Breaker Journey. This mode incorporates RPG-like elements, allowing players to select a character and navigate a map, engaging in battles to level up stats and customize their play style. Some battles will feature unique conditions, such as collecting Dragon Balls, and the mode promises challenging opponents.

Episode Battle Expansion and Free Update

The game's existing Episode Battle mode, which serves as the story mode, will also see expansions. Yamcha, Krillin, and Tien, all as Earthlings, will receive their own Episode Battles, as will the villain Cell. Details regarding the pricing of the Super Limit-Breaking Neo DLC have not yet been announced.

A free update will accompany the DLC, bringing gameplay changes including the Sparking! Boost mechanic. This allows players to temporarily increase their attack power during Sparking! Mode, at the cost of reduced stats once the mode concludes. The free update also adds a new Chain Blast mechanic for aerial combat and will include variations of existing stages, though specifics were not detailed.

The Super Limit-Breaking Neo DLC will be available on PlayStation 5, Windows PC, and Xbox Series X on July 30. Information regarding a Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 launch will be provided at a later date.
