Dragon Ball Super manga artist Toyotarou has unveiled an alternate cover for Volume 19, providing the first canonical glimpse of Vegeta's mother. This reveal comes almost four decades after Prince Vegeta was first introduced to the series.

Vegeta made his debut in the tenth chapter of Akira Toriyama's Dragon Ball Z manga, titled "Farewell, Son Goku," on November 7, 1988. His popularity following his full introduction in the Saiyan Invasion arc in 1989 led to his permanent inclusion in the series, initiating one of anime's most significant rivalries.

While Vegeta's father, his sons Trunks (from two timelines), daughter Bulla, and brother Tarble have all appeared, his mother has remained unseen and unmentioned until now. The newly revealed cover shows a portion of her appearance, including her hair and attire, though her face is obscured by King Vegeta's cape. This image was shared via the official Dragon Ball website and drawn by Toyotarou.

This artwork was released following an official "My Favorite Cover Poll" and is the second alternate version of the Volume 19 cover. The original featured Goku's family with a mirrored image of his parents, and the first alternate cover depicted Gohan with mirrored images of Goku and Chi-Chi. In those previous covers, Chi-Chi's mirrored counterpart was established as Gine (Goku's mother), and Pan's counterpart was Chi-Chi. Following this pattern, the mirrored character to Bulma on the new cover is logically her mother-in-law, Vegeta's mother.

Further confirming the identity, the obscured woman wears an outfit bearing the Vegeta Royal Family crest. Fans hope this glimpse may foreshadow an appearance by Vegeta's mother in future chapters of the manga, though the manga's return date remains undetermined.
