Capcom will discontinue the Deluxe Edition of Dragon's Dogma 2 and remove a number of its controversial microtransactions from sale on June 24. The developer announced the changes via social media, citing the development of additional content and adjustments for an upcoming title update.

Many of the items being removed are designed to expedite the game's progression systems. As of June 25, the following items will no longer be available for purchase on any platform: A Boon for Adventurers - New Journey Pack, Harpysnare Smoke Beacons, Heartfelt Pendant, Ambivalent Rift Incense, Makeshift Gaol Key, Art of Metamorphosis, Portcrystal, Wakestone, and various tiers of Rift Crystals.

Players who have already purchased these items will still be able to use them. However, the Explorer's Camping Kit and the Dragon's Dogma Music and Sound Collection will remain on sale.

These changes coincide with the upcoming release of Dragon's Dogma 2: Dark Arisen, which was recently revealed for the Nintendo Switch 2 during a Nintendo Direct presentation. This version will include a new expansion that is also slated for release on other platforms. Capcom has been working to improve the game, which has had performance issues and other areas, such as enemy scaling in New Game Plus, that have lacked updates for over a year. A two-part roadmap was previously released to address these concerns leading up to the October 9 launch of Dragon's Dogma 2: Dark Arisen.
