AMC Theatres has revealed the popcorn buckets for the upcoming Dune: Part 3, offering fans three distinct collectible designs. The confectionery containers align with the film's iconic sandworm motif and key characters.
One bucket features dual sandworm mouths, designed to facilitate sharing among moviegoers. Another boasts a single sandworm mouth and includes a functional thumper accessory that moves. The third collectible is shaped like the mobile containment unit used for Guild Navigator Edric, a character expected to play a larger role in the sequel. These items were officially showcased on the AMC Theatres Instagram page.
Dune: Part 3, based on Frank Herbert's novel Dune Messiah, is set 17 years after the events of the previous films. Timothée Chalamet reprises his role as Paul Atreides, and Zendaya's character Chani is reported to have an expanded role, with a potential campaign for Best Actress at the Oscars. While the previous Dune films garnered nominations for technical achievements, acting accolades eluded them. The final trailer for Dune: Part 3 has also hinted at significant departures from the source material, suggesting potential surprises for those familiar with the book.
Dune: Part 2 achieved considerable box office success, grossing nearly $500 million globally and surpassing the first film's total of $433 million. The original Dune, however, had a simultaneous release in theaters and on HBO Max, offering home viewing options.
Dune: Part 3 is slated for a December 18, 2026, theatrical release, with early IMAX preview screenings commencing on December 14, 2026.
