Dust Till Dawn, a new horror-themed game from Mac n Cheese Games, revealed its dual nature in a world premiere trailer during the PC Gaming Show Tokyo Direct. Initially presenting itself as a mundane cleaning simulator where players tidy Japanese apartments, the game quickly shifts tone as music from Akira Yamaoka, composer for the Silent Hill series, begins to play.
The trailer showcases players scrubbing items and earning small amounts of cash before the environment becomes unsettling, hinting at the horror elements that underpin the cleaning gameplay. The game's aesthetic features twisting geometry and early 90s stylings, evoking classic Japanese horror films. Mac n Cheese Games also developed the survival horror title Void Martyrs.
Dust Till Dawn is currently available to wishlist on Steam, with a release date yet to be announced.
