Enshrouded Leaves Early Access October 15 for PC and PS5; Xbox Version Delayed to 2027

After more than two years in PC Early Access, the survival action RPG Enshrouded is set to launch its 1.0 version on October 15 for PlayStation 5 and PC. An Xbox Series X/S version is now planned for Spring 2027.

The game places players as the Flameborn, tasked with halting a corrupting fog that is devastating the land. Players can explore a large world, uncovering remnants of the past. Gameplay involves gathering resources to build structures and settlements, recruit NPCs, craft equipment, and engage in combat against enemies, including during dungeon crawls. The game supports both solo play and 8-player co-op.

Jan Jöckel, CEO of Keen Games, explained the decision to delay the Xbox version. "As we approached launch, we decided that achieving the level of quality and performance we expect on Xbox would require additional time," Jöckel stated in a press release. "We never want to rush a platform release or compromise on quality." He added that development for the Xbox version is progressing and that more information will be shared this summer. Keen Games also confirmed that the 1.0 launch will coincide with new content for the game.

During its Early Access period, Enshrouded received eight major content updates. These updates introduced three new biomes, along with new monsters, weapons, armor, materials, and decorative items. The developer also implemented dynamic weather systems. Keen Games has indicated plans to continue supporting Enshrouded with new content for years following its full release.
