The Epic Games Store is offering two PC games for free to its users: the visual novel Beacon Pines and the co-op puzzle game We Were Here Together. These titles are available at no charge for a limited duration.
Beacon Pines is described as a creepy and emotionally deep game, despite its cast of cute animal characters. It is set within the pages of a storybook, where players control both a reader and a character within the narrative. By investigating occurrences in the game's setting, players can collect charms that allow them to alter the story at key junctures. The game has garnered over 2,500 "Overwhelmingly Positive" reviews on Steam.
We Were Here Together is a co-op puzzle adventure that casts players as Antarctic explorers on a rescue mission. Similar to other entries in the series, successful puzzle-solving relies heavily on communication between players, who use walkie-talkies to stay in contact. This title has received nearly 5,000 "Very Positive" reviews on Steam.
To claim Beacon Pines and We Were Here Together, users must log into their Epic Games Store accounts. The offer is valid until Thursday, August 13, at 11 a.m. EDT.
