Developer vladkudas is preparing Fallgrade, a new exploration game for Steam, which features a unique gravity-flipping mechanic and a fearsome antagonist. The game's world is described as an "analog concrete nightmare" filled with city blocks, pylons, and immaculate black orbs that players must collect. A central challenge involves avoiding a giant, vaporous spider known as Karl.

Players can manipulate gravity, turning walls into floors and the sky into a chasm, though it appears Karl cannot be made to fall. Beyond the urban environment, Fallgrade includes a forest area where players can control the position of the sun, presumably to deal with an unblinking shadow figure. Karl is not expected to accompany the player into this forest setting.

A demo for Fallgrade is currently in development, and the developer has been sharing trailers and engaging with community feedback on platforms like Reddit. Concerns have been raised regarding the game's prominent grain filter, but the developer intends to retain it, aiming for a "fizzy and desolate Game Boy camera vibe." The release date for Fallgrade is yet to be announced.
