Fallout 4 Mod Adds a New Town and Lets You Join Its Tiny Gang

A new mod for Fallout 4, titled 'Detour', introduces an entirely new settlement constructed atop an overpass near Bedford Station. This mod not only adds a unique environment and over a dozen voiced characters but also allows players to join a small, distinct gang within the new town. The Detour Degens, as they are known, are a fledgling faction with matching jackets, though their size is commensurate with the limited space of their overpass home.

Players can undertake various quests to increase their standing with the town of Detour. Among these are tasks for the local sheriff and merchants, but a significant pathway to gaining favor involves interacting with the Detour Degens. Initially, the gang consists of only three members, with the leader imprisoned nearby. Players can assist in his release through several in-game options.

Furthering reputation with the Degens involves a mission to tag various locations around Detour with their logo. Following this, players are invited to participate in a proper criminal quest with the gang. While the mission details are not fully spoiled, it is described as a heist that encounters complications before ultimately concluding successfully. Upon completion, the player becomes a member of the Detour Degens, expanding the gang to four individuals and earning the player a new leather jacket.

The 'Detour' mod is available for download and is highlighted as having been created without the use of AI-generated content, a notable feature in the current modding landscape. The mod adds new quests and over a dozen new characters, all voiced by human actors.
