Hideo Kojima Productions revealed the first poster for its upcoming action-espionage title, Physint, nearly a year ago. While the initial announcement confirmed Charlee Fraser, Don Lee, and Minami Hamabe as cast members, details have been scarce since then. The most recent update, emerging in April 2026, was a casting call for a villain with a "German accent."
This prolonged silence has fueled fan speculation, particularly regarding Robert Pattinson's potential involvement. Theories first surfaced after Physint's initial poster was released, with many fans drawing a resemblance between the shadowy figure depicted and the actor. These beliefs were further amplified by a viral photo of Pattinson and Kojima shared shortly after Physint's 2024 announcement.
Recent attention has turned to an episode of Kojima's "KOJI10" podcast from 2025, where the acclaimed director recounted meeting Pattinson at an afterparty for the film "Die, My Love" at the Cannes Film Festival. Kojima described how Pattinson readily provided him with tickets to the event when he found himself short. The director characterized Pattinson as a "nice guy" and confirmed they spoke, though he did not disclose the specific subject of their conversation.
The podcast revelation has gained significant traction on social media, coinciding with Pattinson's recent string of critically acclaimed performances. His roles in "Primetime," "The Drama" opposite Zendaya, and Christopher Nolan's "The Odyssey" alongside Tom Holland and Anne Hathaway have garnered considerable praise.
Online communities are expressing strong desire for a collaboration between Kojima and Pattinson. Comments on platforms like X/Twitter reflect this enthusiasm, with one user stating, "This would be a f**king GENERATIONAL pairing, I want this to be true so bad." Another comment expressed disbelief at the prospect, suggesting, "Pattinson in a Kojima game sounds too good to be true."
While official confirmation regarding Pattinson's role in Physint remains absent and fans may have a considerable wait for further updates, Kojima Productions recently released a trailer for its upcoming horror game, "OD."
