The Fast & Furious franchise is expanding to television, with Peacock developing a new series slated for a 2028 release. This new show will coincide with the premiere of the franchise's cinematic finale, tentatively titled Fast Forever, also scheduled for 2028.
Vin Diesel, a central figure in the franchise, is attached as an executive producer for the television project. He had previously indicated in May that a series was in development. Mike Daniels and Wolfe Coleman, known for their work on Sons of Anarchy and Shades of Blue respectively, are set to write the pilot episode and serve as showrunners and executive producers. It remains unconfirmed whether Diesel will reprise his role as Dominic Toretto in the series, which may depend on the character's fate in the final film.
Fast Forever Production and Script
Fast Forever is reportedly set to begin production in December, following multiple delays. Louis Leterrier, who directed Fast X, is also helming the final installment. Diesel has expressed significant enthusiasm for the screenplay, calling it the best he has read in decades and stating it moved him to tears.
The ensemble cast is expected to include recurring actors such as Michelle Rodriguez, Jordana Brewster, Tyrese Gibson, and Ludacris. Post-credit scenes from Fast X hinted at the return of Gal Gadot as Gisele Yashar and Dwayne Johnson as Luke Hobbs. There has been speculation about the potential return of Brian O'Conner, portrayed by the late Paul Walker, though his brothers have suggested any such inclusion would require careful and tasteful consideration.
