Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth will be showcased with an in-depth look during Gamescom Opening Night Live on August 25. The presentation will feature game director Naoki Hamaguchi, who will appear in person to share new details about the highly anticipated title.
Gamescom Opening Night Live is an annual event hosted by Geoff Keighley, preceding the massive European video game industry expo. This year's show is expected to highlight a variety of new reveals and updates, with Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth positioned as one of its key features.
Square Enix confirmed the appearance via an X post, noting that Hamaguchi will be present to demonstrate the game. While specific details remain undisclosed, the presentation comes after the game's initial announcement at Summer Game Fest in June. Fans are hopeful for a glimpse of Cloud and his companions' return to Midgar or confirmation of a release date.
Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth is not the only game slated for Gamescom Opening Night Live. Other titles confirmed to appear include The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt's Songs of the Past expansion, Metro 2039, Silent Hill: Townfall, Aion 2, Cinder City, and Project Bonfire. The event is scheduled to begin at 2 p.m. ET on August 25.
