Final Fantasy 7 Revelation, the concluding chapter of the FF7 Remake saga, is anticipated to be a substantial download, with director Naoki Hamaguchi estimating its file size will be around 200GB. This figure significantly surpasses the 145.2GB of its predecessor, Rebirth, suggesting an even larger scope for the upcoming title.
Hamaguchi addressed concerns about the game's scale in a recent interview, stating, "I understand there are a lot of opinions about this topic, but at the end of the day, the fact is we need to overcome the hardware to a certain extent." The director explained that this immense size is the reason the game cannot be released on a single disc, a necessity that also impacted Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth.
Beyond the main game, Revelation will also feature two post-launch DLC packages. Hamaguchi indicated that these expansions will be comparable in size to the Intermission DLC released for the original Remake. He further elaborated that these DLCs will delve deeper into the characters of Vincent Valentine and Sephiroth, though he remained tight-lipped about whether their stories would explore past or present events.
