Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, the second installment in the remake trilogy, is set to include the return of the iconic snowboarding minigame. Game director Naoki Hamaguchi confirmed its inclusion at the Golden Saucer, acknowledging the high expectations surrounding the activity.
Hamaguchi also teased a particularly noteworthy role for Red XIII (Nanaki) during the snowboarding segment. "Nanaki might not be on a snowboard," he stated, suggesting an unconventional method of participation that is expected to draw significant attention, much like his previous attempts to blend in with the cast in Final Fantasy VII Remake and Rebirth. Red XIII's humorous and surprising moments, from disguising himself for the Queen's Blood tournament to visiting his adopted family, have been highlights of the series.
A new trailer for Final Fantasy VII Rebirth was revealed during a recent PlayStation State of Play broadcast, offering further glimpses of the game and confirming its April 2028 release date. The game is also noted for its expanded open-world design, which was experienced firsthand during a hands-on preview at Gamescom last month.
