Final Fantasy VII Rebirth Voice Actors Get Emotional During Final Recording Sessions

The English voice actors for Final Fantasy VII Rebirth have shared some of their most emotional moments from the game's final recording sessions. Many of the actors have been portraying these iconic characters for nearly a decade, and with the conclusion of the Remake trilogy, the sentiment was palpable.

During a panel at New York City Comic-Con, Square Enix revealed footage from some of the final recording sessions. While the clips included lighthearted banter, several cast members were visibly moved as they delivered their characters' concluding lines. Briana White, who voices Aerith, and Britt Baron, the voice of Tifa, were both seen crying during these final sessions. The footage also offered humorous moments, including Sephiroth's surprising admission about his favorite Doritos flavor.

Travis Willingham, who steps into the role of the iconic villain for Rebirth due to scheduling conflicts with the original actor Tyler Hoechlin, was also shown behind the scenes. The author noted a personal connection to these moments, relating to the experience of following a long-running series and eventually having to let it go.

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is set to conclude Square Enix's Remake trilogy on April 8. The extent to which the game will deviate from the original source material remains to be seen, as previous entries in the trilogy have explored different narrative paths. Aerith is confirmed to play a significant role in the upcoming title, with White continuing her performance despite the events of the previous game, Rebirth.
