Final Fantasy XIV Expansion 'Evercold' Delayed to February 2027

Final Fantasy XIV Evercold, initially slated for a January 2027 release, has been postponed to February 23, 2027, with early access commencing on February 19, 2027. This revised schedule was announced during the Final Fantasy XIV Fan Fest in Japan, accompanied by the release of the expansion's full trailer and opening cinematic.

Director and producer Naoki Yoshida presented further details on Evercold during the Fan Fest keynote, outlining new features, the progression of the main story, and significant gameplay changes that will accompany the expansion's launch as the MMORPG transitions to version 8.0. Pre-orders for Evercold are scheduled to open on November 4, 2026, and will include bonus items that are expected to be revealed later in the Fan Fest proceedings.

A glimpse of the second new Job, Zephyr, was also provided. This ranged DPS job utilizes a crossbow and is supported by an avian companion.

Evercold will introduce a new world and main story, alongside a Neon Genesis Evangelion crossover raid series and a Final Fantasy VII crossover raid series. The expansion will also feature a new Tank Job named Bastion, among other additions. The previous expansion, Dawntrail, was reviewed following its release earlier this year.
