Nintendo and Intelligent Systems have released the first wave of DLC for Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave, with more content scheduled to arrive in subsequent updates. The expansion pass brings new weapons, allies, outfits, and promises to restore cut story content.
The first wave of DLC, available now, adds four new weapons that are reimagined versions of the Heroes’ Relics from Fire Emblem: Three Houses. These include the Sword of the Creator (Byleth), Areadbhar (Dimitri), Aymr (Edelgard), and Failnaught (Claude).
The second wave, expected during the 2026 holiday season, will introduce new outfits for Flame Lords Cai, Dietrich, Theodora, and Leda. These outfits can be swapped at will and applied to other units in the roster. This wave will also add three Dagdan gods—Aurora, Smyrnos, and Jurah—as playable allies, offering significant combat advantages.
The most anticipated part of the DLC, Wave 3, will add four new stories to Fortune’s Weave, focusing on the rival lords Anatolia, Talimun, Orchel, and Bertrand. These characters were part of the game's original design but were cut prior to release to streamline the narrative to four main routes, with the avatar character Eshmel serving to connect them. Intelligent Systems confirmed in a developer AMA that the original game considered eight protagonists, but this was deemed too ambitious. The restoration of these routes in the DLC suggests a response to player demand and potentially a desire to complete the originally envisioned scope of the game. A specific release date for Wave 3 has not yet been announced, but it is slated for sometime in 2027.
