Fortnite's annual Fortnitemares event will feature a crossover with the popular horror series Five Nights at Freddy's, Epic Games has confirmed. This collaboration will introduce Freddy Fazbear's Pizzeria as a new location on the island, where players can confront animatronic bosses.
Freddy, Bonnie, Chica, and Foxy are set to appear as formidable bosses that players will need to overcome. The announcement was made alongside a new trailer, with Epic stating, "It's almost showtime! The Fazbear Band has taken over Battle Royale. Face the animatronic animal bosses and survive the night… if you can. Fortnitemares begins 1st October!"
The presence of Five Nights at Freddy's in Fortnite has been hinted at for some time. The pizzeria itself was previously spotted on the island during Fortnite's Override season, and more recent Fortnitemares events have included subtle nods such as security cameras and dialogue referencing the franchise.
The Fortnitemares 2026 event is scheduled to commence on October 1st. This news follows Epic Games' recent settlement in a lawsuit against a contractor accused of leaking confidential information about Fortnite.
