Fool King, an asynchronous autobattler that tasks players with conquering the legions of past players to challenge the titular Fool King, has debuted a new trailer and announced a release date of November 16, 2026. The game is currently available for wishlisting on Steam, with a demo also available for download.
The core gameplay loop involves players constructing armies from a variety of medieval and fantasy units, including archers, knights, fire wizards, and a unit simply named 'hammer.' These troops can be enhanced by imbuing them with the power of gods, offering over 120 upgrades across four distinct godly playstyles. These enhancements can grant abilities such as teleportation, attack speed buffs, or the power to turn fallen foes into undead allies.
While the game operates as an autobattler, players can strategize by utilizing terrain, such as choke points and cover, to their advantage. The asynchronous nature means players compete against the armies of other real players. Victorious players can claim the throne and implement "rule-breaking" decrees that impact subsequent challengers.
