Fortnite continues its expansion into a video game multiverse with the addition of characters and items from the Kingdom Hearts series. Sora, the protagonist of Kingdom Hearts, and his signature Keyblade will be available in the game this week. This collaboration was teased earlier in the current season, Chapter 7 Season 4, which centers on themes of gaming and hacking.

Chapter 7 Season 4 has already established itself as a memorable season for Fortnite due to its numerous collaborations, engaging items, and nostalgic landmarks, all contributing to its video game-centric theme. While the season's Battle Pass featured fewer direct video game crossovers, the Item Shop has been populated with popular characters from various gaming franchises, including Crash Bandicoot and Spyro.

The official Fortnite account on X confirmed Sora's upcoming arrival. The announcement provided a detailed look at Sora and the Keyblade, accompanied by quotes from other Kingdom Hearts characters such as Roxas, Kairi, and Riku. While these quotes do not confirm their inclusion as playable skins, they suggest a possibility of future appearances in the Item Shop. The initial expectation was that Sora would be the sole character from Kingdom Hearts in this collaboration.

Although the reveal of "this week" for the Kingdom Hearts cosmetics might seem broad, an update is scheduled for Thursday, September 17. It is anticipated that Kingdom Hearts assets will be integrated into the game files with this patch. The skins and associated cosmetic bundles are expected to become available in the Item Shop either immediately after the maintenance downtime concludes or at the scheduled shop reset time of 8 p.m. ET.

Epic Games has not disclosed further details regarding this collaboration, likely to maintain an element of surprise. Players interested in potential leaks or additional information should monitor game updates and community discussions once the server downtime begins on Thursday.
