Fortnite's latest update, version 42.10, has launched, bringing a wave of new content across its various game modes. Players returning to the Battle Royale island will discover several new weapons, unique gameplay mechanics, and cosmetic additions.

The update introduces a collection of new weapons as "loot hacks," including Overwatch's Caduceus Staff, Mortal Kombat's Scorpion's Combat Kit, the Wrecker Revolver, Deadeye Assault Rifle, and the Holo Twister Assault Rifle. These items can be unlocked using Sprite Dust. Alongside these weapon additions, four new "sprites" are available: Onigiri, X-Ray, Mega Man, and Overshield, which are expected to influence gameplay strategies.

Several "match overrides" have also been implemented, offering new ways to experience the Battle Royale island. These include the "Big Head" override, which enlarges player models, a "Prop Hunt" override that transforms players into props when stationary, and an "Action Hero" override enabling mid-air hangtime while aiming down sights.

Fortnite OG also sees a new Battle Pass themed around Chapter 1 Season X. Meanwhile, Lego Fortnite has received significant content additions with a Batman crossover event. Players in Lego Fortnite will embark on missions to help Batman recover stolen parts of Gotham City. This event provides access to bat-themed gear, including the Batmobile, and requires players to locate Gotham City locations by following the Bat Signal and engaging henchmen.

The Batman event in Lego Fortnite is scheduled to conclude on October 15, with the opportunity for players to recruit Lego Batman as a villager afterward. The current Lego Fortnite Pass has been extended until October 31, meaning the next Lego Fortnite Pass will not be Batman-themed. However, the Batman Caped Crusader pack is set to return on September 17, offering thematic cosmetics for players interested in the crossover.
