Fortnite's latest season, Chapter 7 Season 4, dubbed "Fortnite Override," has arrived, centering its theme around hacking and the broader landscape of video games. The popular Battle Royale island is now populated with characters, items, and locations drawn from numerous video game franchises.

New Battle Pass and Character Collaborations

The new Battle Pass immediately grants players Sonic the Hedgehog upon purchase. Additionally, those who acquire the pass within the season's first week will gain early access to the Grace Crowne skin and her Infiltrator style. While some Battle Pass skins are original creations designed to fit the season's genre-bending theme, many expected collaboration skins will be made available in the Item Shop. Future additions are set to include characters such as Shadow and Doctor Eggman, alongside figures from Kingdom Hearts, Pac-Man, Mega Man, Persona 5, Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, 99 Nights in the Forest, Crash Bandicoot, and Spyro.

In-Game Mechanics and Content

Players can progress through the season by completing quests to earn experience points and level up their Battle Pass. A new "Lobby Hacks" mechanic, accessible via an admin panel in the lobby, offers useful bonuses for a quick boost. The season begins with the "OverrideXP" code, which provides 40,000 XP, equating to half a season level.

On the island, players can discover "Cheat Codes" that summon sprites. A "Tetris Rift" can be found, allowing players to engage in a game of Tetris by summoning Tetriminos. The "Override Console" spawns in each match, granting special in-game abilities to the player who finds it, though it also reveals their location on the map. New items and weapons include Sonic's Power Sneakers for enhanced mobility and powerful armaments like Mega Man's Mega Buster and Midas's Masterpiece. Epic Games has confirmed that the Kingdom Key from Kingdom Hearts and Rebecca's Guns from Cyberpunk: Edgerunners are also expected to be added.

Fortnite Green Hill Zone in-game

Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 4 is scheduled to conclude on October 31. Following this, the season will likely pave the way for the annual mini-season before the commencement of Chapter 8, giving players ample time to explore the season's offerings and reach the maximum Battle Pass level.
