Fortnite's annual summer event, this year dubbed "Hot Bat Summer," has officially kicked off, focusing heavily on DC Comics characters and content. The event, set to run for five weeks starting July 16, introduces new cosmetic items, gameplay mechanics, and limited-time locations.

At the forefront of the event are four new swimsuit skins featuring prominent DC Comics characters: Catwoman, Batman, Harley Quinn, and Poison Ivy. These skins represent a continuation of a trend for Epic Games to introduce more revealing character designs. Previously, Fortnite skins have featured cleavage, nipples, and other suggestive elements, with the new Poison Ivy skin noted as potentially surpassing prior designs in this regard.

The "Hot Bat Summer" event also includes a variety of free cosmetics obtainable through in-game quests. A standout reward is a glider designed to resemble comic book pages. Players can also expect to find the unvaulted Grapnel Gun, a Batman Beach Buggy vehicle, and the temporary addition of the Bat Cave as a visitable location on the island.

Specific in-game activities are scheduled to enhance the event. On July 18, "Shiny Hours" will occur between 2 PM ET and 4 PM ET, and again from 9 PM ET to 11 PM ET. During these periods, all players will begin matches with a Grapnel Gun. Additionally, Self-Revive devices, Batman Sprites, and Batman Beach Buggies will spawn more frequently, with Rare Sprites also seeing an increased spawn rate. Fortnite Hot Bat Summer Outfits The Batman Sprite is a new item that allows players to deploy their cape mid-air and increases the chances of finding rare Sprites in chests. The "Hot Bat Summer" event is scheduled to conclude around August 20, coinciding with the expected start of the next Fortnite season.
