Fortnite is concluding its Halloween festivities with a new collaboration tied to "Predator: Badlands." This event introduces the first Predator skin to be made available outside of the original Chapter 2 Season 5 battle pass.
The centerpiece of the "Predator: Badlands" set is likely to be a distinctive back bling: the top half of Thia, the Weyland-Yutani android portrayed by Elle Fanning in the film. This character spent much of the movie attached to the protagonist's back. The complete "Predator: Badlands" collection is scheduled to appear in the Fortnite Item Shop on October 28 at 5 PM PT / 8 PM ET.
Fans of Dan Trachtenberg's "Predator: Badlands" have anticipated this collaboration since its announcement last month. The inclusion of a new Yautja skin was expected, but the Thia back bling was only revealed when cosmetics were distributed to content creators earlier this week. In the film, a damaged Thia, separated from her body on a dangerous planet after an encounter with a Kalisk, allies with a young Yautja named Dek to survive the hostile environment and other threats.
Given Thia's role in the movie, her presence as a back bling is thematically appropriate. This marks only the second instance of a human-shaped body being used as a back bling in Fortnite, following the C-3PO cosmetic from 2024. It is also one of only three back blings to feature a real person's likeness, alongside the Lil Tecca plushie and the Tyler the Creator doll.
The Thia back bling is designated as reactive, suggesting it will animate or produce sound in response to player actions during a match. However, current videos from content creators who have received these cosmetics, such as PIZ0 and VALtheVAL, do not appear to demonstrate this reactive functionality, indicating a potential bug.
Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 4 and the associated Fortnitemares event will conclude on Halloween night. A new mini-season themed around "One Piece" is set to launch on Sunday, November 1.
