Forza Horizon 6 Adds Permanent Drift Attack Mode

Forza Horizon 6 has introduced a permanent new feature called Drift Attack, a dedicated mode designed for players to test their drifting skills. Accessed directly from the open world, the mode mirrors the functionality of Time Attack, initiating automatically when players drive through a gantry without requiring additional loading or lobby participation.

The Shimanoyama Circuit serves as the primary location for Drift Attack. Within this mode, points are accumulated similarly to Horizon Drift events and Drift Zones, but with an added layer of strategy. "Clipping Zones" have been integrated around the track, and executing drifts within these designated areas will significantly boost scores.

Drift Attack incorporates the same in-world leaderboard system found in Time Attacks. The mode has also been integrated into the Horizon Festival campaign, becoming accessible after players obtain the yellow wristband. Completing Drift Attack Collection Journal tasks will reward players with a Drift Attack racesuit and helmet, as well as a new Forza Edition car: the 1990 Jaguar XJ-S Forza Edition. A standard version of the XJ-S has also been added to the Autoshow for all players to acquire.

This new drifting mode arrives concurrently with the Horizon Playlist Series 5, themed 'British Automotive', which runs from September 10 to October 8. The series includes ten reward cars, three of which are new to the game. Players can earn rewards such as the 2019 Ginetta G40 Junior, 2021 McLaren 620R, 2015 Jaguar XKR-S GT, 2021 MINI John Cooper Works GP, 2006 Vauxhall Astra VXR, 2016 Bentley Bentayga, 2002 Lotus Esprit V8, and 2023 Lotus Emira by achieving point thresholds during specific seasons. Over the entire 'British Automotive' series, players can earn the 2025 Bentley Continental GT Speed and the 2019 Aston Martin Valhalla Concept Car.

Playground Games has also announced that the subsequent series will be titled 'Horizon Meets', featuring a temporary 7-Eleven Konbini in-world element, additional EventLab content, and more new cars for the game.
