Forza Horizon 6 Delayed to 2027 on PS5, First Expansion Announced

The PlayStation 5 version of Forza Horizon 6 has been delayed to January 2027, Playground Games officially announced. While PC and Xbox versions launched in May, the PS5 release was expected this year but will now arrive in early 2027. The game's first paid expansion is also set to launch on January 26th, 2027.

PlayStation players can opt for early access to the game starting January 21st, 2027, by purchasing a Premium Edition. This edition is priced at £110 and includes the upcoming expansion. A free update for all players will also be released on January 26th, though details regarding its content have not yet been shared.

The PS5 version of Forza Horizon 6 will feature two graphical modes: Quality mode targeting 30 FPS at 4K resolution, and Performance mode aiming for 60 FPS. The game supports cross-platform play and cross-saves, allowing seamless progression across different platforms. User-created content such as liveries and tuning setups will also be shared across platforms.

Forza Horizon 6, an open-world arcade racer set in Japan, was praised in our review, receiving a five-star rating. Our reviewer described it as "the highlight in a pantheon of already great racing experiences," noting that it "shows Playground Games as a developer at its peak" and fulfills the promises made by the original 2012 title.
