Forza Horizon 6 has launched its Series 2 update, titled "Horizon Decades," a four-week event that began on June 18 and will conclude on July 16. This seasonal celebration focuses on cars from specific eras, offering players a variety of challenges and rewards to earn.
To access the seasonal activities, players must have at least achieved the yellow wristband progression in the game. The "Horizon Decades" series is structured across four distinct seasons, each lasting one week, with a new playlist of activities becoming available every seven days.
Completing the various challenges within the Festival Playlist offers players the chance to acquire unique vehicles, in-game credits, and cosmetic items. As players accumulate points throughout the series, they can unlock specific cars. Early in the series, the 1993 Porsche 911 Turbo S Leichtbau is available for 80 points, followed by the 2018 Lotus Exige Cup 430 at 160 points. During the second week, the 1998 TVR Cerbera Speed 12 can be earned for 20 points, and the 1993 Schuppan 962CR for 40 points.
Weekly and Daily Challenges
The "Horizon Decades" playlist includes weekly seasonal challenges that require players to complete a set of four tasks, often centered around a specific car. For instance, one such challenge involves owning and driving the 1991 GMC Syclone, completing drag races with it, achieving specific skills, and winning a street race. Completing all four steps of this particular weekly challenge rewards players with 25,000 credits and 5 points. Other weekly tasks include photo challenges, such as capturing any 1990s Jaguar, which grants the "Jaguar Growl" car horn and 2 points, and a collectible challenge to smash 30 bamboo objects for a Super Wheelspin and 3 points.
Daily seasonal challenges refresh each day, offering a limited window for completion. These typically unlock at 10:30 a.m. EDT and award 5,000 credits and 1 point. Examples include parking at the Evolving World Car Meet in a 1990s vehicle, earning specific racing skills, or winning various race types like touge, cross country, or circuit events. Specific daily tasks also focus on cars like the 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air for earning air skills.
Seasonal and Online Events
Seasonal events are special races that impose specific car restrictions. Participating without meeting these criteria will not yield rewards. These include championships like "Cosworth Your While" for Road Racing, requiring a 1990s Retro Muscle car, and "On The Trail" for Dirt Racing, needing a 1990s Retro Rally vehicle. Players can also tackle Danger Sign challenges, like the Mt. Fuji View Danger Sign, or Speed Traps like Nangan Turn, both requiring cars from the 1990s within an A (700) class. A Trailblazer event at Kudarizaka requires a B (600) class car from the same decade. Completing the "It's working! It's WORKING!" quick chat message task for Tokyo City Food Delivery awards 3 points.
Seasonal online challenges involve competing against other players. "The Trial: Driving in the 90s" pits teams against highly skilled AI Drivatars for a significant reward. Another online event, "F.R.I.E.N.D.S. Horizon Drift," challenges players to earn drift skills in a Horizon Drift Championship, offering the 1992 Mazda RX-7 as a reward.
Series Events
Series events require players to compete against rival NPCs on specific circuits, aiming to beat their times with the same car. Successfully defeating an opponent yields rewards, with subsequent rivals presenting greater challenges. Completing a clean lap in the Narai-juku Circuit (monthly rivals) event awards a Super Wheelspin and 4 points, with only one victory needed to claim the reward.
