Forza Horizon 6 PS5 Release Reportedly Pushed to January 2027 Amidst Conflicting Statements

A new report from leaker billbil-kun, citing Dealabs, claims that Forza Horizon 6 will not launch on PlayStation 5 until January 26, 2027. This assertion follows a period of confusing communication regarding the title's availability on the platform.

Earlier reports from The Verge's Tom Warren suggested that the PS5 version would not arrive in 2026. However, on September 7, Playground Games, the developer of Forza Horizon, issued a statement on its official website refuting these claims. In a lengthy update post, the studio insisted the game was still slated for a PlayStation port within the current year and encouraged players to wishlist the title on the PlayStation Store.

Things took another turn on October 6 when Playground Games posted an oblique statement on its X account, acknowledging community comments and apologizing for a lack of communication. The studio stated it would "continue" to add content to the May 2026 game and that it was "hearing feedback" about post-launch updates, with "future changes" being considered for in-game content and communication methods.

Now, Dealabs states its own investigation corroborates Warren's initial claims, confidently asserting the January 26, 2027 release date. The report also indicates that the game will receive a physical release in Europe, priced similarly to its Xbox counterpart, a move that is becoming increasingly uncommon for PlayStation titles. Forza Horizon 5's successful launch on PlayStation after previous exclusivity on Xbox and PC had set high expectations for the sequel, making the reported delay particularly surprising. Microsoft and Playground Games have been contacted for clarification.
