Fans of Rebecca Yarros' massively popular Empyrean series, which includes the bestselling novels Fourth Wing and Iron Flame, now have new material to explore while anticipating the next book in the five-part saga. The first graphic novel adaptation of Fourth Wing, covering chapters one through twenty-two, has become available for preorder. This marks the initial release in a planned series of six graphic novels, with two adaptations slated for each book in the Empyrean series.

The graphic novel is set to launch on April 6, 2027, and is currently available for preorder on major retail platforms including Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Walmart, and Target. Yarros has been sharing updates on the graphic novel's development through her social media, fueling fan excitement for its release.

In addition to the graphic novel, a collection of short stories titled Threshing Day, featuring characters from the Empyrean series, is scheduled for release on September 29. This new content aims to engage fans who have been rereading the existing books and discussing theories online as they await the fourth installment of the main series.

Despite Yarros' involvement in these supplementary projects, including contemporary novels and the graphic novel, there is optimism regarding the release of the next book in the Empyrean series. Updates from August 2025 indicated that Yarros was already plotting book four and working on the second part of the graphic novel, suggesting significant progress on the main series. Fans are hopeful for a 2027 release for the next novel.

Furthermore, the popular Fourth Wing series is also slated for an adaptation into a Prime Video fantasy series by Amazon, adding another layer of anticipation for the franchise's growing media presence. The graphic novel offers a way for readers to revisit the initial story of Violet and Xaden as they navigate the world of Basgiath War College.
