The Kanto Region Badge Collection, a promotional LEGO set featuring the eight original Kanto gym badges, is currently reselling for well over its original value. The set was initially offered as a free gift to purchasers of a $650 LEGO set that included builds of Blastoise, Charizard, and Venusaur.

This limited-time offer from LEGO and Pokémon, which concluded earlier this year, made the badge collection unobtainable directly from LEGO's website. The 312-piece set allows fans to construct and display all eight Kanto badges: Boulder, Cascade, Thunder, Rainbow, Soul, Marsh, Volcano, and Earth. A transparent case for display was included as part of the build.

Despite being a free promotional item, the Kanto Region Badge Collection is now experiencing a notable increase in value. New, sealed sets are being valued at approximately $155, while used versions are selling for around $129. Sales data from eBay indicates that sealed sets have consistently sold for prices ranging from $149 to $170.

Analysts predict further value growth for the set, with estimates suggesting it could reach $174 within the next year and potentially $220 in five years. This suggests that collectors who acquired the set during the initial promotion are already seeing a substantial return on what was initially a complimentary addition to another purchase.
