FromSoftware's upcoming title, The Duskbloods, has been pushed back from its planned 2026 release window to an unspecified time in 2027. The developer cited a need for further adjustments and balancing in a statement released via the game's official Twitter account.
"While development of "The Duskbloods" is at the final adjustment stage, we have made the decision to move the launch window to 2027," the statement read. "We apologize to players who have been kindly awaiting the release of this title and thank you for your patience and support." A follow-up message indicated that feedback from a recent network test highlighted areas for improvement, specifically concerning combat, strategic depth, and player expression.
This delay comes after a period of uncertainty surrounding the game's release. A previously suggested September launch date passed without announcement, leaving many to question if the 2026 window was still feasible. The Duskbloods, described as a blend of Bloodborne, Sekiro, and Dark Souls with the addition of jetpacks and dinosaurs, is exclusive to the Switch 2.
Interest in The Duskbloods appears to be exceptionally high. During the closed network test, more players applied to participate than did for Elden Ring Nightreign, a testament to the anticipation for the title. However, the network test was not without its issues, as the initial session was reportedly cut short due to significant connectivity problems, although these were reportedly resolved in later sessions. The delay to 2027 suggests FromSoftware is prioritizing polish and stability for the unique title's full launch.
