Frontier Developments, the studio behind popular management simulations like Planet Zoo and Jurassic World Evolution, has announced a new partnership with Disney. The agreement will see the UK-based developer create a game based on one of Disney's extensive portfolio of entertainment properties.
While the specific intellectual property has not yet been revealed, the collaboration strongly suggests a theme park or resort management simulation, a genre where Frontier has demonstrated significant expertise with titles such as Planet Coaster. Given Disney's ownership of numerous theme parks and resorts worldwide, this seems a natural fit for the developer's established strengths.
However, Disney's vast media empire also includes major franchises like Marvel and Star Wars, opening up other potential avenues for the collaboration. The company's CEO, Jo Cooke, stated that the deal aligns with Frontier's "clearly defined strategy of developing and nurturing world-class creative management simulation game franchises."
Frontier is reportedly already working on a new entry in its "Planet" series, distinct from its zoo or rollercoaster titles, which is slated for release in fiscal year 2028. The new Disney project is expected to be separate from this existing unannounced game.
