Game Freak Ends Post-Launch Updates for Beast of Reincarnation

Game Freak, the studio renowned for the Pokémon series, has announced that it will conclude the current cycle of post-launch updates for its action RPG, Beast of Reincarnation. This decision comes a little over two months after the game's initial release, indicating a shift in the developer's focus.

In a statement shared on X, Game Freak stated, "We want to share that our current post-launch update cycle is coming to a close." The final patch in this ongoing phase of major updates is scheduled for October 19. While the developer has not explicitly stated that support for Beast of Reincarnation is ending entirely, the announcement suggests that players should not expect significant content additions or bug fixes beyond this date. The studio is encouraging players to submit feedback through the game's official support channels.

Beast of Reincarnation received a mixed reception upon its launch. Polygon's review noted that while the game features strong action elements and RPG systems, its identity was somewhat diluted by borrowed mechanics from other successful titles, leading to a lack of emotional depth.

With Beast of Reincarnation's update cycle winding down, Game Freak's attention is likely turning towards its next major project: the next installment in the Pokémon series. Officially revealed as Pokémon Winds and Waves, these titles are slated for a 2027 release and will be exclusive to the Nintendo Switch 2. The games are expected to feature extensive underwater exploration and will introduce new starter Pokémon: Browt, Pombon, and Gecqua.
