Game Informer Revisits Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots

Kojima Productions' 2008 release, Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, is receiving a revisit in a Super Replay series hosted by Game Informer. The title was originally presented as the concluding chapter for Hideo Kojima's acclaimed Metal Gear series, tasked with resolving its extensive narrative threads and bringing together a multitude of characters including Solid Snake, Ocelot, Otacon, and Raiden for a final confrontation. The game's plot centers on an aging Solid Snake's race against time to thwart his twin brother and antagonist, Liquid Snake.

Guns of the Patriots garnered praise for its narrative, cinematic presentation, and advancements in stealth gameplay, notably the OctoCamo suit which enabled Snake to blend with his environment. The game also holds the distinction of receiving a perfect 10/10 review score from Game Informer upon its initial release.

Now, players can experience Metal Gear Solid 4 again through the Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 2. The Super Replay series features Charles Harte, a newcomer to the Metal Gear series, playing Guns of the Patriots for the first time via the Master Collection, accompanied by long-time fan Marcus Stewart, who is revisiting the game after more than a decade. The stream commenced live on Twitch and YouTube at 12 p.m. PT/3 p.m. ET and is scheduled to run for two hours weekly until completion. Episodes are also available for viewing on YouTube after their initial broadcast.
