Developer PlaySide Studios has released a brief gameplay reveal for Game of Thrones: War for Westeros, showcasing a brutal encounter between Lannister soldiers and a fire-breathing dragon. The real-time strategy title aims to let players conquer the Seven Kingdoms, offering both solo and multiplayer campaigns.

The footage depicts a mass of Lannister troops advancing, only to be met with a devastating aerial assault from a dragon, resulting in their fiery demise. Previous announcements confirmed the inclusion of key characters and factions such as Jon Snow and House Stark, Jaime Lannister, Daenerys Targaryen with her dragons, and the Night King.

Originally slated for 2026, the game's release window has been shifted to early 2027. PlaySide Studios cited the need for additional development time to achieve its quality goals. "We remain unwavering in our mission to deliver a real-time strategy game set in the world of Westeros that meets the expectations of both RTS players and Game of Thrones fans," the studio stated. A more comprehensive gameplay reveal is scheduled for August 25 as part of Gamescom Opening Night Live, where further details about the game are expected to be shared.
