Gamescom Opening Night Live 2026, hosted by Geoff Keighley, has concluded, offering a two-hour presentation filled with new gameplay reveals, trailers, and game announcements. The event highlighted updates on anticipated titles and introduced new projects from various developers.

CD Projekt Red confirmed a significant presence for its upcoming expansion to The Witcher 3, titled "Songs of the Past," though The Witcher 4 was not shown. Real-time strategy game "Game of Thrones: War for Westeros" premiered new gameplay during the show. Also featured were "Final Fantasy VII Revelation," "Gears of War: E-Day," "Ananta," "Tides of Annihilation," "Metro 2039," and "Warlock: Dungeons & Dragons."

The showcase opened with a trailer for "Nodus Fall," a fantasy RPG developed by HoYoverse. This title appears to feature a more mature art style and potential co-op gameplay, distinguishing it from the developer's previous works like Genshin Impact. A release date for "Nodus Fall" has not yet been announced.

Ubisoft Paris presented gameplay for "Rainbow 6 Tactics," a single-player tactical game where players command operators on missions worldwide. The game is slated for release in 2027.

Additionally, a campaign trailer for "Gears of War: E-Day" was shown, providing a closer look at the story and the locust leader responsible for the invasion. This title is an Xbox console exclusive.

Geoff Keighley opened the show by acknowledging recent challenges in the industry, including layoffs and what he termed a "memory crisis," but expressed enthusiasm for the future of video games as demonstrated by the night's announcements. The event took place on August 25, with a pre-show beginning 30 minutes prior.
