Gears of War: E-Day Campaign Length Detailed, Features Semi-Open World Elements

Gears of War: E-Day is set to offer players a campaign experience lasting between 10 to 14 hours on normal difficulty, including time for collectible hunting and engagement with non-story missions. This playtime aligns with previous titles in the series and provides a substantial narrative arc.

The campaign is structured across five acts, with Acts 2, 3, and 4 being the most extensive. Players can revisit earlier missions from the main menu to find any missed collectibles or gear upgrades. The game also incorporates semi-open-world environments between its linear, cover-based shooter segments, encouraging exploration for hidden items and optional objectives.

Beyond the main campaign, Gears of War: E-Day will feature multiplayer modes designed to extend playtime. A new mode called Horde Siege pits three teams of four players against waves of enemies, emphasizing cooperation and survival against increasingly difficult odds. Higher difficulty settings in the campaign may present more challenging enemies that require careful resource management.

The full mission structure includes:

Act 1: Prologue, Chapter 1, Chapter 2, Chapter 3, Chapter 4 Act 2: Chapter 1, Chapter 2, Chapter 3, Chapter 4, Chapter 5 Act 3: Chapter 1, Chapter 2, Chapter 3, Chapter 4, Chapter 5, Chapter 6 Act 4: Chapter 1, Chapter 2, Chapter 3, Chapter 4, Chapter 5, Chapter 6 Act 5: Chapter 1, Chapter 2, Chapter 3, Chapter 4, Chapter 5

Further details regarding the game's availability on Steam and its post-launch roadmap are expected closer to its global launch.
