The Prototype Lancer pizza cutter is constructed from metal, featuring a stainless steel blade and a handle designed to evoke the feel of wielding the iconic in-game weapon. Its hefty price is justified by its build quality and the inclusion of a pizza emblem for Gears of War: E-Day. The "Prototype" designation is explained by the game's lore; the weapon was created a year after Emergence Day, the event that the prequel game will explore.
The Emergence Pie itself is designed around the themes of Gears of War: E-Day. It features a spicy vodka red sauce, mozzarella cheese, pepperoni, sausage, and a topping of spicy Italian chili crisp. Microsoft's promotional material describes it as a "rugged, relentless, and built to hit hard" pie. This special pizza costs $46 before taxes and delivery fees.
Both the pizza cutter and the Emergence Pie are available to promote Gears of War: E-Day, which is set to release on October 6 for PC and Xbox Series X|S. The game will be available on day one with Xbox Game Pass. A premium edition costing $100 will allow players to access the game five days early.
The Emergence Pie can be purchased from Prince St. Pizza locations in the US and Canada until November 1. While Microsoft has not confirmed a PlayStation 5 version of Gears of War: E-Day, the company has stated that the game is not a timed exclusive for Xbox. This statement follows a pattern seen with titles like Starfield, which was initially described as not being timed-exclusive before eventually releasing on PS5.
