Genshin Impact's latest major update, version 7.0, has officially opened the doors to Snezhnaya, the game's seventh nation. Players can now explore its snowy landscapes and engage with its unique gunplay mechanics.
Accessing Snezhnaya does not necessitate completing the entirety of Genshin Impact's current storyline. A direct route is available through the 'Volkodlak Tundra' Teleport Waypoint. This waypoint is situated northeast of Dottore's 'Special Territory Research Institute' in the northern part of Nod-Krai. To make this waypoint visible and usable, players must first complete the Prologue story in Mondstadt, specifically up to Act 3, 'Song of the Dragon and Freedom'.
For those who might not see the Teleport Waypoint immediately, zooming in on the map in the described area may reveal the small, but crucial, marker. Upon completion of 'Song of the Dragon and Freedom' and reaching at least Adventure Rank 19, the 'Volkodlak Tundra' Teleport Waypoint will automatically unlock on the map, bypassing the need to discover Nod-Krai or progress through extensive story content.
Players should be aware that while early access to Snezhnaya is simplified, the new region's enemies may pose a significant challenge if characters are not adequately leveled. Preparations for combat are advised before venturing into the new territory.
Starting Snezhnaya's Archon Quest Early
It is also possible to begin Snezhnaya's Archon Quest ahead of schedule. The same requirement applies: completion of the Mondstadt Prologue up to Act 3, 'Song of the Dragon and Freedom'. Meeting this condition enables the option to commence Snezhnaya's first Archon Quest directly from the 'Volkodlak Tundra' Teleport Waypoint.
Choosing to fast-track the Archon Quest does not prevent players from returning to experience previous story content. However, it is strongly recommended to play through the preceding narrative to fully appreciate the context and character development, as Snezhnaya represents the culmination of six years of lore and Fatui developments within Teyvat. Skipping earlier quests may result in a loss of crucial background information and characterization.
