Ghost of Yōtei is set to receive new content this October, including a roguelike mode dubbed 'Most Wanted' and a single-player expansion titled 'Echoes of Skigahara.' The upcoming 'Most Wanted' mode, revealed during the latest State of Play, will allow players to control Jin Sakai, the protagonist from Ghost of Tsushima, in a surprising crossover. This marks the second major PlayStation first-party title to receive roguelike-style downloadable content, following similar additions to The Last of Us Part II and God of War: Ragnarök's 'Valhalla' mode.

The 'Most Wanted' roguelike mode will challenge players with waves of enemies, offering customizable loadouts enhanced by various perks. These perks can include abilities like igniting blades at low health or summoning wolves to aid in combat. The mode also incorporates Ultimate abilities and Kill-Streaks, contributing to its arcade-like feel. Alongside the existing playable character Atsu, players will be able to step into the shoes of Oyuki and Nagato, with Jin Sakai being a notable new addition.

While Jin's appearance, along with other bosses featured outside of the main story, indicates that this content is not canon, it offers a novel opportunity for players to experience the Ghost of Tsushima protagonist in a new context. Each character in 'Most Wanted' will begin with a unique loadout, and the developers are reportedly curious to see how Jin's gameplay will compare to his original title.

The 'Most Wanted' DLC and the 'Echoes of Skigahara' expansion are scheduled to release on October 1. Players who own the base version of Ghost of Yōtei can upgrade to the Complete Edition, which includes the new single-player content, for $14.99.
