Developer Sucker Punch will release new single-player story content and a roguelike-inspired mode for Ghost of Yōtei on October 1. This new content will be included in the Ghost of Yōtei Complete Edition, and owners of the base game can upgrade for $14.99.

The single-player content consists of two parts: "Echoes of Sekigahara" and "Most Wanted." "Echoes of Sekigahara" is a narrative expansion set in the current Yōtei timeline that will delve into Atsu's past, focusing on her relationship with Nagato and providing more insight into The Snake, a character from the Yōtei Six who is minimally explored in the base game. The expansion will explore Atsu's life between her childhood and the events of Ghost of Yōtei.

"Most Wanted" is described by Sucker Punch as its "spin on a roguelike." In this mode, players will accept bounties to initiate new runs. Progressing through these runs will reward players with perks and unlock additional characters to play as. This mode draws parallels to the "Valhalla" roguelike mode added to God of War Ragnarök post-launch.

In addition to the story and roguelike content, the October 1 update will introduce new tracks for Watanabe Mode, enhancements to the photo mode, new cosmetic items for New Game+, and an option to maintain an armor set's appearance while using the stats of a different set. The update also includes "Beauty of Yōtei" mode, which will display various environments from Ezo, the game's setting, functioning similarly to a screensaver.

Ghost of Yōtei was initially released in 2025. Following its launch, Sucker Punch added the cooperative online multiplayer mode "Legends," which is available for free to owners of the base game.
