Ghostwire: Tokyo Now Available on GOG, Removes Bethesda.NET Integration

Ghostwire: Tokyo, developed by Tango Gameworks, has been added to GOG's Preservation Program. This release removes the need for Bethesda.NET integration, which previously provided extra content upon the game's initial launch.

The GOG version promises that stability issues arising from future operating system changes will be addressed through subsequent patches. The game's inclusion in the Preservation Program is notable, though it's worth clarifying that the controversial Denuvo anti-tamper technology, added over a year after the game's initial release, was removed shortly after its implementation. Bethesda Softworks still appears as the publisher for the title.

While the closure of Tango Gameworks by Xbox was recently rescinded following an acquisition by PUBG owner Krafton, this GOG release does not seem directly tied to those events. The game, released in 2022, proved to be a significant success for the studio, attracting over 6 million players. It was noted at launch as a strong title that was somewhat overshadowed by the release of Elden Ring.
