Sony has unveiled the Collector's Box for the upcoming title God of War Laufey, a premium package priced at $150 that notably excludes any version of the game itself. Pre-orders for the limited-quantity bundle are set to open soon, with PlayStation warning that stock will be scarce.
The God of War Laufey Collector Box includes a light-up Faye statue standing eight inches tall, depicting Faye alongside Phranque and Rue in battle. The statue features Phranque, who will illuminate when connected to a USB power source. Additionally, the box contains a 51-card oracle deck with custom illustrations by Megan Lara and a physical mini artbook showcasing concept art from the game's development.
This release follows a similar trend seen with the Grand Theft Auto VI collector's set, which also did not include a copy of the game and carried a significantly higher price tag of $400. While the God of War Laufey box is less expensive, some fans may find the absence of the game disappointing, especially when compared to previous God of War collector's editions. For instance, the God of War Ragnarok Collector's Edition included Thor's hammer, a steelbook, DLC, and digital codes for PS4 and PS5 versions of the game. The original God of War (2018) collector's edition featured a statue, a disc-based steelbook, a map, lithographs, and digital content.
While this collector's box is likely intended as an add-on for players already committed to purchasing the game, it does not offer the digital deluxe edition upgrade, which typically includes exclusive in-game armor and weapons.
The God of War Laufey Collector Box is scheduled for release on February 16, 2027, with a recommended retail price of $149.99 USD, €149.99, or £129.99. Preorders are slated to begin on October 13, 2026, at 10 AM local time, exclusively through PlayStation Direct.
