PlayStation has unveiled new combat details for the upcoming God of War Laufey, highlighting Faye's new weapon, the Serpent Bow. This versatile bow can be employed for both precise ranged attacks and aggressive close-quarters combat.
Gameplay demonstrations show Faye utilizing the Serpent Bow to unleash barrages of golden arrows, even at close range. She can seamlessly combine its abilities with acrobatic kicks and the magical properties of Jack Quaid's character's magic cube to keep enemies airborne. The Serpent Bow features distinct aimed and hip-fire modes, allowing for customization through various arrow types, scale upgrades, and armor perks to create powerful character builds.
In addition to the new combat mechanics, Santa Monica Studio has detailed the pre-order and Deluxe Edition bonuses for God of War Laufey. Pre-orders are set to begin on September 29 at 10:00 a.m. Early purchasers will receive the Last Wish Armor Set, a cosmetic Phranque Golden Leaves Appearance, and an in-game resource pack.
The $80 Deluxe Edition includes the Dark Alchemy Armor Set, Dark Alchemy Blade, Dark Alchemy Bow Scales, and Dark Alchemy Catalyst, along with an in-game resource pack, a digital mini artbook, and the official God of War Laufey digital soundtrack. While these bonuses are not described as essential to gameplay, the exact contents of the in-game resource pack remain to be seen. God of War Laufey will be available on a physical disc for PS5, though the pre-order and Deluxe Edition bonuses will require a digital download.
