The titanic clash between Godzilla and Sonic the Hedgehog is heating up in IDW's comic miniseries, with the third issue set to feature the iconic kaiju's direct confrontation with the blue blur. The first two issues of Sonic the Hedgehog x Godzilla focused on the battles involving Mechagodzilla and Mothra in Station Square, leaving readers anticipating Godzilla's own debut.
That anticipation is set to be rewarded in issue three, which arrives in comic shops on October 14. Series writer Nick Marino teased that readers have "ventured past the point of no return" and that while the danger is real for Team Sonic, a "certain someone else" might be ready to offer aid. Dr. Eggman's "Operation Dark Future" is also escalating, with the final piece for his plan potentially falling into his grasp.
IDW has provided an exclusive preview of three pages from the upcoming issue, offering a first look at the long-awaited face-off, or as the preview notes suggest, a "face-to-tail" encounter.
Sonic the Hedgehog x Godzilla issue 3 will be available on October 14. Issues 4 and 5 are currently available for pre-order.
