The upcoming remaster of Godzilla Destroy All Monsters Melee will launch on November 3, a date deliberately chosen to coincide with the original film's 1954 release, according to developer Pipeworks. Senior designer Simon Strange stated that the proximity to Grand Theft Auto 6's November 16 release was not a primary consideration during the decision-making process for the remaster's launch date.

Strange revealed in an interview with IGN that the development team did not actively avoid or strategize around Rockstar's highly anticipated open-world title. "Honestly, [it] wasn't even in our heads at all when we were picking the release date," Strange said. "That's not my business. I make the video games. I'm not too worried about when they come out."

The November 3 release date holds significant meaning for the Godzilla franchise, marking the anniversary of the original Gojira film's debut. Strange described this choice as "respectful" to the Godzilla fandom. He also expressed confidence in the game's appeal to its dedicated audience, noting that "Godzilla fans are very excited for it. They'd buy it on any day that it came out, and putting it out on Godzilla's birthday, that's just respectful."

While Godzilla Destroy All Monsters Melee: Remastered and Barbie Rewind are releasing in the shadow of GTA 6, another title, Volvy's Adventure: Reslimed, is set to launch on Steam on the same day as Grand Theft Auto 6. Rockstar recently provided a detailed gameplay presentation showcasing new features for its upcoming game.
